Shipston Excelsior’s New Webshop

I wanted to explain about how the new web-shop works and why we’ve done it. We really do need to make some more money for the club but we don’t want the burden of this to be coming out of the same people’s pockets every time. So this is a way of giving without spending any extra money. If we can encourage as many people as possible to use it, then we can achieve this!

Many people may start off sceptical but once you explain that they will get exactly the same deal but still feel good about giving at the same time, they’re generally happy to go with it. It’s exactly the same company that charities such as The British Legion use to raise funds.

So far, we’ve made £80 so far which is very good for 2 days. If we can get plenty more people using the site, then I’m sure we can contribute a couple of grand in the course of this season.

If you can take some time to read through this, it would be appreciated.

There are plenty of ways you can make money for the club through the webshop without even spending any money. For example, if you’re looking to change your gas or electricity supplier, then there are a number on there and if you go through our site and click on the link, we’ll receive another donation. Even with the price comparison sites such as USwitch, if you switch your suppliers through them (from our link), we get paid.

A few more nifty ideas:

• If you wanted to buy your national lottery tickets online, simply register through the site and we get 50p. When you buy your first ticket, we get another £3.50. Don’t become gambling addicts but if you’re going to buy lottery tickets anyway, then do it this way.
• If you’re bored, why not do one of the surveys through Experian and we get £1.80. Just say that you’re basically not interested in anything (unless you are) and I’d suggest that you enter an email address you don’t need just in case it does lead to spam. I think you can also win cash prizes...and all for gratis.
• Les and I have asked for an appointment for someone to give us a quote on some blinds from Hillary’s Blinds. £20 to SEFC for each one requested without even spending a penny which can’t be bad.
• With 3V, you can request them to send you out a free card with no obligation to do anything with it and we get £2 for each one.
• And for those sporty ones amongst us, request info about joining a David Lloyd gym and we get £5.
• Also, if you wanted to try LoveFilm’s DVD delivery service, you can try it for free for 21 days and we get £7.50. If you cancel before the end of the 21-day trial, you get free DVD rentals for the duration of the trial and the club still gets their £7.50. Everyone’s a winner!
• If you need a new credit card, then apply online through providers such as MBNA or Capital One and we can up to £30. I got one and the club got £23 and it’s never going to cost me a penny.
• If you wanted broadband, there’s a deal with Pipex on there where you get free internet for 6 months and we still get £26 a time.

If you’re thinking about getting Sky anyway, then go through our site and you get the same deal you would with Sky. We get between £40 and £60 depending on what package you get. And if you’re subscribing to Sentanta Sports anyway who’ve got a load of The Premiership matches this season, do it through our site and we get a tenner.

As you’ll see, all transactions are handled by the company themselves. For example, if you’re buying from Sky, then it takes you to the Sky site and you are paying Sky directly. However, the source of where you clicked from is tracked and a commission is payable.

And if you’re going to fly anywhere on Thomson from Coventry or anywhere, go through our site. You still get exactly the same deals but the Club gets a kick-back.

Then there’s loads more sites such as Amazon, Marks and Spencers, Littlewoods, Blackwells, CDWow, Play.com. Game and HMV. If you’re ever going to buy anything from them anyway, just go through our webshop first. If you use these sites anyway, then it's a great idea.

I really hope that everyone can use this site and encourage their friends and families to do the same. And if you really have no money, then I hope you can still get involved in the ideas I mentioned where you can generate money for the club at absolutely no cost to yourself.
